Discover Douglas

Where two rivers meet.

Douglas lies near the confluence of the Orange and Vaal Rivers in South Africa’s Northern Cape.

The town is about 100 km from Kimberley and 271 km from Bloemfontein, and is divided into Bongani, Breipaal and Douglas. It is a green patchwork on the banks of the Vaal: space for the solitary and activity for the energetic.

The area is home to some of South Africa’s largest irrigation farms, producing corn, wheat, peanuts, cotton, potatoes and pecan nuts. Cattle, sheep and game farms also shape the region, while the GWK Landzicht wine cellar produces a variety of dessert and table wines.
